"Econometrics is a very tough concept in general. Professor Valdes is passionate about the material and is very eager to help. Even
with the class being extremely difficult Professor Valdes is a very engaging lecturer and presents it in a way in which you actually
want to learn it. Great professor teaching a tough concept."
"Enrique loves what he does, he does very well keeping students involved even when the content might be dull. He always knows
what he is talking about and is glad to share extra knowledge. He is a great teacher and works well with students struggling."

"...Professor Valdes did a great job communicating enthusiasm and interest in the material! I also appreciated the effort to gather feedback on what was and wasn't working early on, and the willingness to adapt. The use of the textbook, MyLab, and slides was well–done, and I appreciated the more comprehensive unity between materials there that many courses do not have. Other great points included encouraging in–class practice and consulting with peers, which is always awkward at first..."
"...I knew I was in a judgment free zone with a Professor who was more than willing to help me the best he could. Enrique is understanding that not all students have taken Calculus, an understanding I can confirm other professors of this course do not necessarily have, and his approach of making sure all student's are coming into each lesson with the same base of knowledge is not only comforting, but obviously incredibly helpful in the success of this course..."

"...Professor Valdes is an amazing economics professor, and it is a shame that he is only a visiting professor. His lectures were
interesting and engaging, he was always enthusiastic, he was receptive to feedback, and he was easily accessible outside of
class. Many of the economics professors, in my opinion, are quite dry and unengaging with their lecture style, but with Professor
Valdes, economics became a fun subject..."

"Professor Valdes is an incredibly caring and engaging professor. He makes class fun (which is really hard to do with econometrics)
and I feel that I have actually learned how to apply the concepts to real world applications."
"I liked that Dr. Valdes covers material clearly and writes on the board so I can take quality notes. I felt that attending lectures was a
good way to get valuable information for exams –– in other, similar economics classes, I have found that instructors move so
quickly that I do not end up with quality notes and get lost very easily. Since I had heard this class was very difficult in the major
progression, I was really nervous going in, but Dr. Valdes's teaching style has actually made this class a lot better for me than other,
"easier" economics courses. I hope I get the opportunity to take another one of his courses before I graduate."

"The course was often difficult and confusing, but necessarily so: it did a pretty good job giving a foundation in econometrics. I had
heard from several older Econ majors that this was the hardest of least favorite Econ class they had taken, and if this is the case I'm
very excited to take a bunch more classes at W&M :). Enrique was engaging, funny, understanding, and encouraged participation in
class. He's the best of the three Econ teachers I've had here so far. I'm looking forward to taking another class with him next
semester!"

"I liked how the lectures in class aligned with the content of the textbook, which made studying for exams easier. I appreciated how
Professor Valdes clearly labeled which chapter + section of the book the lecture material came from in class. The material can be
challenging, but in–class examples and practicing interpretations in discussions help with understanding and preparing for exams.
I also thought the homework helped me to better understand what the main objectives of the material were."

"Enrique made Macroeconomics very interesting. I appreciated how he connected our material to real world topics. As a professor,
he is one of my favorites. The design of the course was clear and concise and I feel he is a great addition to W&M. I have suggested
his course to many of my friends. Though challenging, this course was fair in exams and grading in relation to material. I feel
prepared for taking more classes in economics after taking this course. Enrique is fantastic!"

What is the most successful aspect of this course? Why?
"Professor actually engages his students with class polls and other activities."
"The instructor is always there to help and is very considerate of all his students."
"The most successful aspect of the course is that the lectures in class were actually very helpful to retain the information. Most professors don't really lecture, so having Professor Enrique lecture helped me retain the information. Evidently, not everything can be covered in an hour and 15 minutes, so it was our responsibility to read the textbook, complete our homeworks, and watch the pre class tutorials. The combination of all that ensured a good grade in the class."
"the teacher was really great because he cared about students and made sure that everyone was on the same page"

"In my 4 years as a university student, Professor Valdes is simply the best professor I ever had the opportunity to be taught by. From making sure the pace is reasonable, to finding the preferred method by the students, taking feedback, and motivating high performance, is simply the highest quality I have ever come across. If I ever need a course being taught by Valdes, I will take it, regardless of alternatives"

"Because this class had no lecture most of the learning was independent, however I appreciated how Mr. Valdes wrote weekly announcements to keep us on track and provide encouraging messages. He seems very passionate about what he teaches and even went above and beyond to provide us with extra videos and articles relating, what we were learning, back to current topics in the real world."
"Even though this was an online course, our professor did a great job to still teach us. He provided video recordings of his teaching and included PowerPoints as PDFs for us to learn. Overall; great job."
"Great teacher one of the best I've had so far that is why I'm submitting this survey."
"The teacher was very consistent checking in with his students at least once a week and made himself available to students who had any problems."
"This instructor was great, he not only helped the students when we had questions but he would respond right away to our messages. The class was very simple and easy to understand."
